Master Grower/Cultivation Expert Needed for a New York Indoor Grow Op to
yield 20 pounds a month.

We are seeking a Master Grower who has the skills to help set up and manage this type of grow facility.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in horticulture or agriculture, and have significant experience managing a production facility including 7-10 years of indoor grows and a proven track record of creating award winning strains with High THC and Terpene Concentrations.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Evidence of 7-10 years+ experience in a large-scale grow. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Help set up and Manage a production facility to yield a minimum of 20 pounds of flower per month. Help Perform all the tasks in the grow including: cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, packaging, waste disposal and inventory management. As well as making the grow smell free. The Company operates under the highest standards of professionalism.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must have at least 7 years (prefer 10) indoor grow experience as a Master Grower operating a minimum of 20 lights.

-Knowledge of indoor plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc.

-Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.

-Ability to perform tasks required for the proper management of grow.

-Advanced knowledge of the cannabis plant and genetics.

-Must be able to provide grow resume, pictures and portfolio at interview.

-Well researched in new techniques and insight into optimized standard operating procedures that provide high-quality, high-yield results.

-Comprehensive knowledge of irrigation.
-Facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A four year degree in horticulture or related field is required. Masters degree is a plus. Must have at least four (4) years of similar experience

Required experience:
successful indoor grow with at least 20 lights: 7 years.

    The ideal candidate will hold a degree in horticulture or agriculture, and have significant experience managing a commercial production facility including 7-10 years of outdoor grows and a proven track record of creating award winning strains with High THC and Terpene Concentrations.

        AMBI is currently seeking an experienced Master Grower for their Chatham-Kent facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Master Grower will be accountable for providing leadership and guidance to the Grow and Cultivation team, The Master Grower will understand and effectively use grow and cultivation techniques for cannabis production to enhance quality, safety and efficacy through all stages of the plant production-cycle.

        As Master Grower, you will:
        • Always adhere to AMBI Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, safety and efficacy in all stages of the grow and cultivation process.
        • Ensure all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety are implemented and followed during all grow and cultivation operations.
        • Familiar with and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR)
        • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and production areas, organize and maintain fertilisation and irrigation systems.
        • Monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages of production, from vegetative to drying.
        • Up-to-date knowledge of all pest and pathogen controls
        • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks; can critically think to problem solve
        • Work with the Quality Assurance team, following checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product
        • Lead team in performing safe and effective growing, pruning, harvesting, and drying of cannabis product
        • Work in partnership with the production team, deliver job training and provide performance reviews.

        Position Requirements:
        • Post secondary Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or any other related discipline an asset
        • 3-5 years experience in a commercial grow venue
        • Experience in the cultivation of cannabis or other sensitive commercial crops is considered
        an asset

            Job purpose

            The Master Grower will be responsible for the oversight and crop management for up to 35 rooms of plants during the cloning, vegetation and flowering stages through to harvest. Responsibilities will include the effective management of a team, planning projects, scheduling work, completing tasks within specified timelines and on budget. Other responsibilities will include the research and analysis of horticulture problems, providing advanced technical support and overall management of Horticulture.

            Duties and responsibilities

            • Responsible for the long-term planning including the Horticulture budget, as well as daily oversight of Company’s unique growing program, creating and communicating updates and plans
            • Working with and leading the Manufacturing Supervisors to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Horticulture team
            • Leading weekly meetings with the Horticulture staff and articulating departmental priorities on a daily/weekly basis; ensuring work plans are designed and executed in conjunction with priorities
            • Developing and implementing production plans and creating standard operating procedures in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team
            • Responsible for overall crop management, including overseeing the climate and irrigation computerized control systems and, pest and disease control
            • Fertility management; responsible for soil, water and leaf analysis to determine fertilization requirements for maximum production and adjusting fertilizer programs as applicable
            • Management of the Horticulture team; staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training to build out the department and ensure that all personnel receive ongoing instruction and evaluation, while continually expanding their diverse skill sets
            • Providing the Horticulture team with guidance, supervision, training and coaching on best practices in plant care techniques
            • Working with Human Resources on coordinating Horticulture Apprenticeship opportunities with post-secondary institutes
            • Participating in research and development projects related to growing and equipment
            • Participating in a range of activities beyond the typical work day, including travel, events and programs, and cultivation activities as needed and as approved by your direct report
            • Working with Processing and Quality Assurance/Quality Control to coordinate and complete appropriate harvest cycles
            • Participating in professional development which meets or exceeds the requirement to maintain any applicable professional
            • Ensure regulatory requirements are met for premises and equipment used for cultivation, harvest, preparation, packaging, storage, infusion and sale of marijuana are maintained in clean and sanitary conditions.
