Toronto Police raided a Canna Clinic cannabis dispensary again on Monday, this time at 44 Kensington Ave. Police allege they seized 168.7 kilograms of marijuana,14.5 kilograms of marijuana oil, 4.9 kilograms of shatter, $14,410 (Canadian currency), and $22 (US currency).
This is at least the fourth raid on the Canna Clinic dispensary chain by Toronto Police since a large scale raid in June that included 80 arrests and raids on Vancouver locations for evidence collection. In July, police raided a Canna Clinic at 33 Kensington.
Fifteen people were arrested in Monday’s raid, and are facing drug charges, including possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and more.
The raid is on the heels of an announcement on Friday the 8th from the Ontario government that illegal dispensaries are ‘on notice’. TPS have repeatedly stated they will continue to target cannabis dispensaries.
They are scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, October 23, 2017, 9 a.m., room 114. For more news, visit TPSnews.ca.
